Health & Safety Disclaimer

  • Mind Space offers visitors a ‘Symptom Experience’ Activity (the Activity), which utilizes Virtual Reality (VR) technology. Please inform our staff if you do not wish to participate.
  • By entering the rooms designated for the Activity, the visitor agrees that they have read the information below, that they are participating in the Activity voluntarily at their own risk, and understand that they can leave the Activity room at any time.
  • Mind Space shall not be responsible for any individual’s physical or psychological health condition in relation to the Activity.
  • Mind Space reserves the right to discontinue the Activity or refuse the admission of visitors to the Activity for any reason without prior notice, including visitors with:
    • symptoms of contagious diseases, such as respiratory tract infections, eye infections etc.
    • signs of discomfort or distress during the Activity
    • difficulty in following staff’s instructions
Symptom Experience room Health Warning
  • A small percentage of individuals may experience seizures or blackouts when exposed to flashing lights or patterns in VR, even if they have no prior history.
  • Some people have reported dizziness, headaches, anxiety, problems with balance, sight or hearing etc. from the use of VR.
  • Some people may experience physiological responses such as elevated heart rate and blood pressure from the use of VR.
  • The VR headsets distort your perception of the actual surroundings, and may lead to harm if visitors do not follow staff’s instructions.
  • The VR headset may not suitable for children under 12.
  • Visitors with the following conditions are not recommended for the Activity:
    • Epileptic seizures or related conditions
    • Heart disease, high blood pressure or other related conditions
    • Claustrophobia, panic or other related conditions that could lead to distress with the use of VR equipment
    • Motion sickness, vertigo or other conditions affecting the sense of balance
    • People with deficits in sight or hearing
    • People who feel ill or fatigued, emotionally distressed, or are under the influence of medications or alcohol before the visit
    • People with pacemakers or other electronic implants
    • Pregnancy
    • History of any kind of discomfort with the use of VR equipment
  • Should participants experience any discomfort during the activity, they should stop using the VR headsets and leave the room immediately.
Photography
  • Some parts of the Activity may require photos to be taken of the visitors to enhance the experience. Mind Space will not store, back-up, upload, or download the photos captured.
