Q:Does Mind Space engage in any commercial collaborations with individuals or groups, as I saw online that there are groups organizing paid tours for Mind Space?A:Visiting the Mind Space is entirely free of charge! Please note that our establishment is made possible through the generous sponsorship of the HSBC 150th Anniversary Charity Program, and our ongoing operations depend on donations received from organizations and the public. We would like to emphasize that we have no commercial partnerships or affiliations with individuals or groups. Therefore, any visit activities organized with a fee are not related to Mind Space.

Q:What are the opening hours of Mind Space?A:Organization visits: Mondays and Thursdays (excluding public holidays)
Individual visits: Wednesdays and Saturdays (excluding public holidays)
There are two time slots available each day: 9:00 AM - 12:00 NN and 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM. -
Q:When will the online booking system release available time slots for booking?A:For individual reservations: The booking system provides time slots for booking within the next 90 days. Time slots beyond 90 days will be available for booking after midnight.
For group reservations: The booking system provides time slots for booking within 28 to 180 days. Time slots beyond 180 days will be available for booking after midnight. -
Q:How many visitors are allowed during each session?A:In order to enhance the visiting experience, the number of visitors is limited to 50 per session. This allows us to provide visitors with ample opportunities for interactive activities, symptom experiences, and sharing sessions facilitated by peer support workers.

Q:How can I check if the online reservation system has available time slots or if they are already full?A:If there are available time slots for reservation, the dates will be displayed in black. If the dates are displayed in gray, it indicates that the time slots are already full. Mind Space is a permanent exhibition and there are no fixed exhibition periods. If you are unable to make a reservation due to full bookings, please check the online reservation system later for available time slots. Thank you for your understanding!

Q:I have made a reservation to visit Mind Space but I am unable to attend due to an unexpected event. Should I cancel my booking? What consequences or implications would there be on future reservation opportunities if I don't cancel the booking?A:To ensure fair visitation opportunities, if you wish to cancel your reserved visit, individual visitors must make changes or cancel the reservation on the website at least 3 days prior to the scheduled visit, while organizations must cancel at least 7 days prior to the visit. If an applicant fails to provide prior notification or attend the visit as reserved, Mind Space reserves the right to reject future applications from the respective individuals or parties for a period of six months.

Q:Is there a waiting list for bookings?A:There are no waiting lists for visitor time slots. Visitors can check the system online as our online reservation system will regularly update the available time slots for reservation.

Q:Which groups are eligible for group/organization reservations?A:Societies, organisations and Hong Kong registered companies are eligible to register for group visits to Mind Space.
Any suspected usage of visits to Mind Space for commercial or other unauthorised purposes will result in the rejection of registration and/or denial of entry. Registration and entry eligibility are subject to the final decision of the Institute of Mental Health and Castle Peak Hospital. In the event of any disputes, the decision of the Institute of Mental Health and Castle Peak Hospital shall be final and binding. -
Q:I have 12 family members who want to visit together. Can we make a group reservation?A:We regret that you should make individual reservations. Group reservations are only applicable to registered non-profit organizations, health-related or community registered groups, public institutions and schools. If the number of individuals exceeds 6 for a visit, please apply for individual reservations in separate groups.

Q:After the visit in Mind Space, can I visit other areas of the hospital?A:No, after your visit at Mind Space, you should directly exit through the rear gate of the hospital and return the visitor pass to the security guards stationed there.

Q:Is photography and filming allowed in Mind Space?A:Photography for personal and non-commercial use are welcomed at Mind Space. Please do not take photos at symptoms experience room and peer support worker and their debriefing session. Video recording and voice recording are not allowed in Mind Space. Professional photography or videography for commercial use must be approved in advance.

Q:Can I take photographs in other areas of the hospital?A:No. Visitors are not allowed to take photographs within areas of the hospital besides Mind Space.

Q:Is there an age restriction for visiting Mind Space?A:There is no age restriction for visiting Mind Space but we do not recommend children under the age of 12 to participate in the symptom experiences that require wearing VR (virtual reality) devices.

Q:Can we eat or drink in Mind Space?A:Eating and drinking are not allowed inside Mind Space. To maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of Mind Space, visitors are not allowed to eat or drink inside the museum.

Q:What is the earliest time allowed to enter Mind Space?A:All visitors can enter Mind Space through the rear gate of the hospital at the earliest 15 minutes before their scheduled visiting time slot (i.e., 8:45 AM and 1:15 PM). Please note that the closing time of Mind Space is 12:00 PM for the morning session and 4:30 PM for the afternoon session.
